It’s been an exciting week here at Lodgify and we wanted to share the reason why – we’ve finally moved into our shiny new office located near Universitat in Barcelona!
Adiós Plaça Espanya
After a wonderful year in our previous office, we waved goodbye to our Plaça Espanya rooftop premises last Friday and we were welcomed by a weekend of removal guys, a whole load of boxes and a lot of work to do. It’s safe to say the first thing we unpacked at the new HQ was the coffee machine…
Now we’ve had a couple of days to settle in, the team are really enjoying the fact we’re all in one open-plan space. It makes it so much easier to interact with one another, share ideas and knowledge between departments and round up the team for meetings.
We’re loving the amount of natural light that floods into our sixth floor office all day long. We might not have a terrace anymore, but at least we still have beautiful views of the blue Barcelona sky (whilst working comfortably in an air-conditioned office!).
The open space is countered with three glass-walled meeting rooms, so we can have individual team meetings or conference calls without being disturbed. The glass walls allow light to pour in, so the rooms don’t feel cut off from the rest of the office.
Before we moved in, we had a clear idea of what we were going to do with the kitchen/dining room – knock down the wall and make it open plan, too! The builders were hard at work last week making this dream a reality, and now we have a great communal area for preparing and eating lunches, as well as generally chilling out. Soon, we’ll be setting up the ping pong table for some light stress relief during the day, which will of course double up as entertainment whenever we have after-work drinks in the evening.
