Between the holidays, end-of-year tasks, and new year planning, December was quite a busy month. But don’t think that means we didn’t have time to focus on new product updates for you!
We’ve been hard at work to ensure you start the year off with new capabilities that simplify your life as a vacation rental manager. This month, that comes down to a new marketplace integration to streamline financial management as well as quick wins that make a big difference.
Vacation rental financial management just got easier
No property managers enjoy accounting and bookkeeping. (None that we know of, at least.)
So, let us introduce you to your new best friend: Clearing, our latest marketplace addition.
Clearing is an accounting and automated booking solution designed to help you close your books faster than ever before. With Clearing, you can easily:
- Automatically generate line item breakdowns of your reservations from all booking channels.
- Generate owner statements and commission calculations and make payments.
- Build a trust accounting infrastructure with sub-balances, external accounts and cards, and virtual accounts.
And thanks to our integration, using Clearing is now easier than ever!
Simply sign in or create an account on Clearing and enter your Lodgify API key into the integrations section. Your properties and reservations will automatically be imported!
Quick wins for…
Sometimes, a simple fix can make all the difference. At least, that’s the case with these updates.
Fine-tuned planning
We first announced our new recurring tasks feature back in May. Since then, you’ve shared some feedback on how to make this feature even better.
Now, we’re excited to offer an important improvement based on that very feedback: more flexibility in setting up recurring tasks with a monthly frequency.
You can now further tailor the repetition of tasks to your specific needs. Choose an interval from “every month” to “every 12 months” and then either the specific day of the month (1st to 31st) or a specific day of the week within the month (e.g., the first Monday, last Friday, etc.).
Thanks to this update, advanced recurring tasks such as “perform this task every three months on the second Tuesday of the month” are now possible!
More detailed listings
The next time you go to add a new rental via the manual rental creation flow, you’ll notice a couple new steps to help you make your listings more informative.
When indicating how many guests your rental accommodates, you can now select the number of bedrooms and bathrooms it has as well.
And in the next step, you have the option to select from a list of the most popular amenities to indicate what’s available at your rental.
More detailed listings are good in and of themselves to help you secure more bookings. But this update also sets the stage for another feature we’ll be rolling out in the future. Check back soon for more information!
Increased organization and control
Now, you can download CSV files containing bookings for upcoming check-ins, check-outs, and current stays directly from your booking agenda with just the click of a button.
For instance, if you want to download bookings for upcoming arrivals, simply:
- Navigate to your dashboard.
- Locate your booking agenda.
- Click on the Next arrivals tab.
- Click the Download arrivals button below the table.
Then repeat this process for departures and current stays from the Next departures and Currently staying tabs!
Improved payment processing
We’re excited to announce that PayPal is now supported as a payment option for Vrbo reservations!
So, if you host via Vrbo, you can now manage payments for Vrbo reservations via PayPal just as you would with direct reservations. Simply activate PayPal in the Payment settings section.
A more efficient signup process
For those of you who haven’t signed up for Lodgify yet, it just got a little bit easier.
In the final step of the signup flow, which involves verifying your email, we’ve introduced a new button for Yahoo users. After selecting Yahoo, users are seamlessly redirected to their Yahoo inbox, where they’ll find the Lodgify activation email.
Yahoo is the third-most popular email provider among our visitors, and we’re happy to be able to streamline the email verification process for everyone who uses it!
