AirDNA report forecast throws up a surprise or two

AirDNA unveiled their highly anticipated mid-year outlook report, with the findings even surprising themselves. The report reveals their initial expectations have doubled since the year’s inception, increasing their demand growth forecast to 10.4% for 2023 from 5.5%. The details of this captivating report also show that supply and occupancy are slowing down, but ADR (average daily rate) is doing better than expected.

Airbnb slams alleged host revenue ‘collapse’

Contrary to the viral tweet making rounds, which claimed a staggering 50% decline in revenue for property owners in select US cities, Airbnb has asserted that the demand for these sought-after accommodations remains robust.

“The data is not consistent with our own data,” said Sam Randall, an Airbnb spokesperson, “As we said during our first-quarter earnings, more guests are traveling on Airbnb than ever before, with nights and experiences booked growing 19% in the first quarter of 2023 compared to a year ago.”

We suggest gathering data from the many industry reports that have been released over the last few weeks to help give you a better picture of your business’ future. While certain statistics may not be as high as last year, it’s certainly not all doom and gloom.
